Users of other operating systems can find a tarball of the source code at the same location, or checkout the files from CVS. Mac OS X and Ubuntu users will have to be patient, since packages haven't yet been released for their operating system. January 28, 2010 - RC 2 is on its way http://www.grisbi.org#n043 We plan to release the RC 2 version of Grisbi 0.6.0 before the end of this week. Source code will be available from our CVS repository, for those confident enough to compile it themselves. The Windows binary will be available shortly after. Mac OS X users and Linux users who prefer packages will have to wait a bit longer before the binaries are available. We'll let you know as soon as possible. January 28, 2010 - Discontinued support for Grisbi version 0.5.9 http://www.grisbi.org#n042 Because of the incompatibility between Grisbi 0.5.9 and the latest version of the GTK libraries (2.18.x), and with the arrival of Grisbi 0.6.0, we have decided that no 0.5.9 bugs will be fixed anymore. This decision had already been taken a while ago, but was never announced. Now it's done. While you are waiting for the final release of Grisbi 0.6.0, you can try out the 1st release candidate (0.6.0 RC1) available on Sourceforge. Make sure that you select a file that is suitable for you operating system. January 05, 2010 - Grisbi.app 0.6.0rc1 available http://www.grisbi.org#n041 Version 0.6.0rc1 of Grisbi.app Aqua and X11 for MacOS X Leopard PPC and Intel is now available for download at Sourceforge. November 14, 2009 - Bęta 3 is finally out! http://www.grisbi.org#n040 As promised, I just made the beta 3 of Grisbi 0.6.0 available for download on sourceforge. Sources are available here and Windows binary can be obtained here. A couple of changes are woth notifying though: the Windows version now has a nice installer, and bundles a installer of a GTK runtime that has been specially compiled for Windows. And we have tagged our CVS repository (tag is "upstream_version_0_6_0_beta3") for those who prefer to check out grisbi from CVS We are aware of problems with multiple currency files, and we'll have them fixed in the next beta. But basically, the version should work for most users. Now, enjoy and keep reporting bugs as you discover them. November 10, 2009 - Bug found (Linux - GTK 2.18) http://www.grisbi.org#n039 After investigating further this so-called incompatibility, it turns out that we had a sleeping bug in Grisbi 0.5.9. It has been there since the beginning, but only appeared when users started to upgrade their systems with the 2.18 version of GTK, in which has been done some serious rewriting. A while ago, we decided we wouldn't touch the version 0.5.9 code anymore, and since it should take too long to fix the bug in version 0.5.9, we are probably going to stick to this decision. As said before, version 0.6.0 beta 3 should be out some time this week, and until then if you need to use the 0.5.9 version, you'll have to revert to an older version of GTK. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. November 07, 2009 - Beta 3 on its way http://www.grisbi.org#n038 The next version that we will publish will be Grisbi 0.6.0 beta 3. It should fix quite a lot of the bugs encountered on Windows, and settle the question of the currencies. It should be released next week, so stay tuned... November 07, 2009 - Documentation for Grisbi 0.6.0 http://www.grisbi.org#n037 For those who are interested in knowing how the 0.6.0 version of Grisbi works, please refer to the documentation wiki available here: http://pbiava.nerim.net/dokuwiki-grisbi/doku.php It is obviously not complete yet but we'll do our best to fill in the blanks as soon as possible. November 06, 2009 - Incompatibility uncovered (Linux) http://www.grisbi.org#n036 Back to you with some information about the bug that has recently been experienced by many users. From the data I could gather form the bug reports and tests I personnaly ran, I figured out that the bug is due either to an incompatibility between the latest versions of GTK 2 and libc, or simply by a bug in the memmove() function in libc. Anyone who has recently upgraded their packages with the latest versions of GTK2 and libc may encounter the bug. So far, it can be seen on Ubuntu 9.10, Fedora 11 and Mandriva 2010. We are currently focusing our efforts on the new version of Grisbi (the beta 3 of version 0.6.0 is on its way), so for the time being, we will not fix this issue. If you really need to use Grisbi 0.5.9, I would recommend that you downgrade the faulty packages if possible. Otherwise, you can either wait for the next beta or even use the beta 2 that has been released earlier. And don't forget to backup your account file before switching to 0.6.0! November 04, 2009 - Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" + Grisbi 0.5.9: segfaults ahead http://www.grisbi.org#n035 Based on the number of bug reports we have received over the past few days, we suspect that there us a bug preventing Grisbi 0.5.9 from working correctly under the newly released Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala". Grisbi seems to be randomly exiting with a segmentation fault. We still haven't located the problem, nor determined wether it is due to Grisbi or Ubuntu. But thanks to the bug reporters, we will soon have more info on the problem. Just sit back for a while, and we'll soon come up with a solution. November 04, 2009 - Mac OS X developer needed http://www.grisbi.org#n034 As you may have noticed, we haven't issued a beta 2 archive for Mac users. The reason of that is simple: the developer has been called away for other projects, and we currently have no replacement for him. Anyone who is willing to help us port Grisbi 0.6 onto Mac OS X should contact us on the developers mailing list or via IRC. November 04, 2009 - Beta 2 out http://www.grisbi.org#n033 It has been more than a year since we last posted news, not that we didn't want to, but we have preferred to focus our efforts on the developement of the new version of Grisbi. In the last news, we had promised a beta version for you to test, so here it is : Grisbi 0.6 beta 2 is out! 32 bit Microsoft Windows users can download a zip containing everything needed to run Grisbi. Just extract the contents of this archive somewhere onto your hard drive. Please note that Windows users are not yet able to import OFX and GnuCash files. Linux and Unix users can find a tarball of the sources that they will have to compile there As always with beta versions, we do not recommend this version for everyday use, but we would really appreciate it if you could play around with it for a while and send us feedback the way you prefer: IRC, Grisbi's matis-based bugtracker, mailing-lists, etc. Check this page out for more info on how to contact us. IMPORTANT! If you plan on using your personal account files from Grisbi version 0.5.9 for testing purposes, please make sure to back up a copy of your account files to a secure location (for example a flash drive) before running Grisbi 0.6.0 beta 2.
